It sucks to have to pay about $8 to withdraw $1000 through the Neteller card...

so I think I'm just gonna withdraw $1000 a day through the ATM, take that $1000 into the bank, ask them to give me 1000 rolls of pennies, melt it down, and sell it for a profit.

Seriously though, does anyone know if certain banks have ATM machines that allow you to withdraw $1000 a pop? Everywhere I try, $500 is the max so I end up having to pay the transaction fees twice.

Its better than not having a neteller card and having to wait 4-6 weeks for an EFT.

I'm not really cheap, actually far from it, but I hate wasting money when I don't have to be. If Neteller ends up paying in a couple of weeks, the people without the debit card are gonna end up saving money while I'll be out about $400 from the fees.
But of course I'd rather have one than not.

But I don't think BOA accepts the Neteller card. I don't think it's part of the Star or Pulse network of ATMs, at least not mine. Besides, if I want to withdraw 1K a day, I'm still gonna have to do 2 transactions.

I've taken $800 off my Neteller card at my local BoA four days in a row.

Funny..the guy is bitching about paying less than 1% to get money out of Neteller. I'd settle for 80 cents-on-the-dollar at this moment ( with 21 K in there).

With so many people taking money out via the ATM, why is there such a fear that Neteller will stiff everyone? If I were going to stiff everyone I sure as heck wouldn't let anyone have 1 cent. Do people really believe the end is near or is it just the fear mongers as usual.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't have a card and have been told it's a 6 to 8 week wait for my check. People pulling baby amounts out of ATM's are of no comfort to me at the moment. Something is going on, I just don't know what yet. I'l be amazed if this goes smoothly and i get paid after 6 or 8 weeks.

It may not be comfort, but it certainly is not consistant with a company that is considering running with the money. If checks and efts can be "delayed" or "on-hold" then certainly they could do the same with ATM withdrawals, couldn't they? It just doesn't do much good to claim the world is ending without having seen first hand the large rock that is about to crash into us.

Of course it can be consistent with a company that will stiff. They spoon feed a small percentage of the customers they owe, who tell the others that "it's ok...they paid me". This buys them the time they need to figure out what they're going to do and stiffing or filing for bankruptcy are both options. People do unpreditable things when they are holding onto OPM.

If a company wanted postive PR they could simply post it themselves. It sure would be a lot cheaper and just as believable as a handful of unknowns saying they've taken money out via the ATM. Here, I'll do one.

I just received my EFT from Neteller in the amount of $100,000. It took a few days but it finally arrived. Phew...I'm happy now!

Believe it? Does that quiet the masses, or at least some? It was pretty cheap too.

And the buying time notion, they have as long as they need without giving anyone any money. Let's say no one has access to the ATM from this day forward...how would that change our options? Is that really buying them time?

I guess we can agree to disagree, but I'm just tired of everyone assuming the worst.

People sometimes do come on here and try to do some PR. These are usually the ones with 1 or 2 or 3 lifetime posts to their credit, and are met with scepticism. Believe it or not sir, not all of us RX posters believe everything that we read or everything that is posted. Thanks anyways.

BTW, "assuming the worst" and preparing for it and trying to prevent the worst from happening is how we protect ourselves. If you go around and give everyone the benefit of a doubt and assume the best, you'll likely be reacting in a the situation where it's too late when shit hits the fan.

I did not mean to insinuate that anyone believed everything they read. I'm just trying to understand why Neteller would pay anyone if they had any designs on stiffing their customers. What would people be doing differently if the ATM card was not working? How is that buying Neteller time? For argument's sake, let's say it stops working tomorrow and there is a rash of posts claiming such. What do we do now? Do are phone calls get nastier? Do we e-mail twice as much? And how do any of our actions get any results? I can understand and appreciate the value of a shill in 3 Card Monty or at an auction, but what real value is paying some people? I just don't get it.

...and we would all just believe it without questioning it, you assume.

Believability aside, I just don't see what value paying some people has to them if their intentions are to eventually stiff?

Conversely, I don't see these payouts that you speak of as proof that I am going to get paid at some later date, which is all I care about regarding the whole Neteller situation.
